What works best for outdoor triathlons, goggles or masks, mirrored or clear?

Response from Scott Machado:

As with all answers, "it depends." :) In general goggles are the better pick because they have less drag than a mask. However, if you feel that a mask would make your more comfortable (knowing no water could go up your nose), that may be the better choice.

As far as mirrored or clear goes, it depends on the sun the day of the race. If it is sunny and there is a lot of glare, mirrored or darker goggles/mask will be the better choice. If it is overcast, the reverse is true.

Hope that helps!
