Can pilates help my triathlon?
Yes. A lot of things can help 'crosstrain' a person and prevent other ailments or injuries, which, would be my opinion of why someone would do such things, that and they like it!
Sports specific is the term and it means that nothing other than the specific modality in which you are looking to make gains can do better for you than that sport itself.

Pilates can help your triathlon as a way to work core & strength development into your program with body resistance and no additional equipment. The movements and flexibility benefits are numerous also. Incorporate a routine into your program 2-3 x week.
Absolutely! Having a strong core is essential to your performance as a triathlete, and pilates is a great way to improve core strength and flexibility. If you can afford it, personal instruction will be more beneficial than classes, because the tendency with a lot of pilates movements is to "cheat" by using muscles other than your abs. A good instructor will help pinpoint your weaknesses and teach you correct movements to help you get the most from your time spent on pilates.
